Just to play Devil’s advocate, as many of our “Communists” think that Islamic Fundamentalism is inherently more compatible with Marxism than Zionism, it should be pointed out that the Taliban and Iranian regime curse the Red Army whereas Israel praises it. Now you can say the material conditions make ideology unimportant, but it is still ironic.

It should be noted that the SECULAR Ba’athists were pro-USSR in their original conception, whereas the counterpart regime in Afghanistan was not. And that regime was a fundamentalist regime, but not the Taliban.

Israel will erect a memorial commemorating the Red Army’s crucial role in the victory over the Nazis, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told Russian Prime Minster Vladimir Putin at a photo opportunity before their meeting Tuesday.

Netanyahu said the gesture, which he intends to move forward, is in honor of the 65th anniversary of the victory over the Nazis later this year. This move comes amid growing concern in Russia that their role and sacrifice in the victory over Nazism is increasingly being underplayed.

Putin, saying that it was forbidden to forget the Nazi victims and that the Jews and the people of the former Soviet Union suffered more than anyone else at the hands of the Nazis, said he was currently in discussion with Moscow’s chief rabbi about the possibility of establishing a Holocaust museum in Moscow.

Netanyahu said he hoped the memorial would be erected before Putin’s next visit to Israel, expected with the year, and that at the same time the Russian prime minister could also take part in the ceremony in which Russia would formally take over control of the Sergei courtyard in central Jerusalem.

After saying that Israel and Russia would increase cooperation in a number of spheres, including technology, security and agriculture, Putin joked that he hoped the agricultural cooperation would add funds to Israel’s Agriculture Ministry so that it could quickly move out of its offices in the Sergei courtyard.

Army is hiring contractors; “Not enough” Combat Majors!

It appears the current material conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan are very unpopular, as even with the recession and horrible job market, “not enough” people want to join the military to fight a strategically flawed war in Afghanistan and an ideologically flawed war in Iraq. So the army is now hiring “for profit” contractors to “fill the void,” thus validating claims of a military industrial complex. We continue to be weary of veterans who brag about their service while simultaneously pretending they are political dissidents.

WASHINGTON — The Army’s ability to train its forces is “increasingly at risk” because of the nation’s protracted commitments to Iraq and Afghanistan, the general in charge of training has told the Army’s chief of staff.

In a Feb. 16 memo to Gen. George W. Casey, Gen. Martin Dempsey, the commander of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, says that the Army has lost thousands of uniformed trainers because of troop demands in Iraq and Afghanistan, has had to put junior officers in charge of some key training functions and has delayed initial instruction for nearly 500 pilots because it doesn’t have enough trainers.

Only 30 percent of the instructors at Army training schools are in the military, Dempsey says, with the Army increasingly dependent on outside contractors.

“We are behind in integrating lessons learned, developing training and updating doctrine,” Dempsey wrote in the memo, a copy of which McClatchy obtained. “We are undermanned in our efforts to design the future Army.”

Dempsey’s warning occurs as the Obama administration presses ahead with plans to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan by 30,000 and has committed a growing number of military trainers to doubling the size of the Afghan security forces. Since Dempsey took command of TRADOC in December 2008, the command has sent 889 troops, contractors and civilians to Iraq and 675 to Afghanistan.

Casey, who’s frequently warned that the long-term commitments in Iraq and Afghanistan have strained the Army, said in an interview this week that Dempsey’s memo didn’t surprise him.

He said, however, that the military didn’t have enough soldiers to commit more troops to training, and that relief would come from two developments: the continued withdrawal from Iraq and the planned expansion of the Army by 65,000 soldiers by the end of 2011.

Dempsey’s memo “is his way of getting it on my radar,” Casey said.

Titled “Erosion of TRADOC’s Core Competencies and Functions,” the memo contains a litany of how keeping a large troop presence in two war zones while committing to train foreign troops has hurt the military’s training efforts.

There are 96,000 U.S. troops in Iraq and 78,000 in Afghanistan.

Dempsey wrote that since September 2001, the number of soldiers assigned to training and other planning responsibilities has declined by 7,300, while the number of civilian employees has declined by 4,500. To fill the gap, Dempsey says, his command has hired 9,000 outside contractors.

He complains that the result is a “de-greening” of training, meaning less reliance on Army personnel. For example, he wrote, outside contractors are teaching 68 percent of the courses at the Army’s Intelligence School.

Dempsey says the manpower shortage has affected ROTC training programs, particularly at universities that provide large numbers of junior officers to the Army. He says that the officer-to-student ratios at five of the nation’s six largest ROTC programs, including The Citadel in South Carolina and Texas A&M University, now exceed 1 to 45 and that in some cases the ratio is 1 to 76.

A shortage of captains and majors with combat experience is particularly troubling, he says.

“Their experience level is of extreme importance to our command because it gives them the field-tested knowledge and credibility to teach, coach and mentor the officers following behind them,” Dempsey wrote.

He wrote that 18 first lieutenants were filling company command positions in basic combat training units — positions usually reserved for higher-ranking officers — and that the command has had to turn to noncommissioned officers in some of those units to fill operations positions usually reserved for commissioned officers.

Evangelicals, Catholics and internationalism

I find this to be interesting that Christianity is a driving force behind international altruism, good or bad. It is just interesting. The shift in the activity of evangelicals is interesting.

It is interesting that nuns are handing out condoms. How about just realizing that people who cannot control themselves are not human beings?

For most of the last century, save-the-worlders were primarily Democrats and liberals. In contrast, many Republicans and religious conservatives denounced government aid programs, with Senator Jesse Helms calling them “money down a rat hole.”

Over the last decade, however, that divide has dissolved, in ways that many Americans haven’t noticed or appreciated. Evangelicals have become the new internationalists, pushing successfully for new American programs against AIDS and malaria, and doing superb work on issues from human trafficking in India to mass rape in Congo.

A pop quiz: What’s the largest U.S.-based international relief and development organization?

It’s not Save the Children, and it’s not CARE — both terrific secular organizations. Rather, it’s World Vision, a Seattle-based Christian organization (with strong evangelical roots) whose budget has roughly tripled over the last decade.

World Vision now has 40,000 staff members in nearly 100 countries. That’s more staff members than CARE, Save the Children and the worldwide operations of the United States Agency for International Development — combined.

A growing number of conservative Christians are explicitly and self-critically acknowledging that to be “pro-life” must mean more than opposing abortion. The head of World Vision in the United States, Richard Stearns, begins his fascinating book, “The Hole in Our Gospel,” with an account of a visit a decade ago to Uganda, where he met a 13-year-old AIDS orphan who was raising his younger brothers by himself.

“What sickened me most was this question: where was the Church?” he writes. “Where were the followers of Jesus Christ in the midst of perhaps the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time? Surely the Church should have been caring for these ‘orphans and widows in their distress.’ (James 1:27). Shouldn’t the pulpits across America have flamed with exhortations to rush to the front lines of compassion?

“How have we missed it so tragically, when even rock stars and Hollywood actors seem to understand?”

Mr. Stearns argues that evangelicals were often so focused on sexual morality and a personal relationship with God that they ignored the needy. He writes laceratingly about “a Church that had the wealth to build great sanctuaries but lacked the will to build schools, hospitals, and clinics.”

In one striking passage, Mr. Stearns quotes the prophet Ezekiel as saying that the great sin of the people of Sodom wasn’t so much that they were promiscuous or gay as that they were “arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.” (Ezekiel 16:49.)

Hmm. Imagine if sodomy laws could be used to punish the stingy, unconcerned rich!

The American view of evangelicals is still shaped by preening television blowhards and hypocrites who seem obsessed with gays and fetuses. One study cited in the book found that even among churchgoers ages 16 to 29, the descriptions most associated with Christianity were “antihomosexual,” “judgmental,” “too involved in politics,” and “hypocritical.”

Some conservative Christians reinforced the worst view of themselves by inspiring Ugandan homophobes who backed a bill that would punish gays with life imprisonment or execution. Ditto for the Vatican, whose hostility to condoms contributes to the AIDS epidemic. But there’s more to the picture: I’ve also seen many Catholic nuns and priests heroically caring for AIDS patients — even quietly handing out condoms.

One of the most inspiring figures I’ve met while covering Congo’s brutal civil war is a determined Polish nun in the terrifying hinterland, feeding orphans, standing up to drunken soldiers and comforting survivors — all in a war zone. I came back and decided: I want to grow up and become a Polish nun.

Some Americans assume that religious groups offer aid to entice converts. That’s incorrect. Today, groups like World Vision ban the use of aid to lure anyone into a religious conversation.

Some liberals are pushing to end the longtime practice (it’s a myth that this started with President George W. Bush) of channeling American aid through faith-based organizations. That change would be a catastrophe. In Haiti, more than half of food distributions go through religious groups like World Vision that have indispensable networks on the ground. We mustn’t make Haitians the casualties in our cultural wars.

A root problem is a liberal snobbishness toward faith-based organizations. Those doing the sneering typically give away far less money than evangelicals. They’re also less likely to spend vacations volunteering at, say, a school or a clinic in Rwanda.

If secular liberals can give up some of their snootiness, and if evangelicals can retire some of their sanctimony, then we all might succeed together in making greater progress against common enemies of humanity, like illiteracy, human trafficking and maternal mortality.

The Free Market is the American Religion

The reason America never fixes its problems is that it believes they will auto-correct. This article is the ideological foundation of authoritarianism. If you prefer to smear it, I guess you could call it “emergency dictatorship,” “capitalism in decay” or “fascism.” It is the idea that freedom and liberty “don’t work,” but the logical conclusion is that authority is needed to patch society. It is not really stressing class conflict or the need for the complete elimination of private property, and thus not really addressing the issue from a Marxist-Leninist standpoint but a corrective authoritarian standpoint.

It requires a religious belief in capitalism in order to keep trying to succeed against all odds, because otherwise it is easier to give up. After all, to succeed requires many failed attempts and/or a special networking connection, especially in this global economic meltdown. I can attest to the fact that most hardcore entrepreneurs truly believe these values.

WASHINGTON — The most popular religion in America isn’t Christianity, as most of us have been taught to believe. The most cherished belief system celebrates the principles of unfettered capitalism.

That misplaced faith in free markets was on display in this past Thursday’s health care summit, when — between sound bites and talking points — Republicans argued that “choice and competition” would largely resolve the country’s health care problems. That belief — that the arbitrary, confusing and consumer-unfriendly policies and practices that we euphemistically call a health care “system” can be transformed by relying on free market principles — is confounding.

Except for beneficiaries of Medicare, Medicaid and the Veterans Affairs system — all government-run insurance programs — those of us who have insurance are utterly reliant on the private market. That’s what got us into the mess we’re in.

The health care market simply doesn’t operate like the market for cars or computers or flat-screen TVs. Sony and Samsung make their profits by selling as many of their products as they can. Health insurance companies make their profits by selling as many of their products as they can and then trying very hard not to actually deliver them.

Try to imagine that you’re awaiting delivery of your brand-new 50-inch TV, for which you’ve already made a hefty down payment. But the company calls to tell you that you violated some obscure clause in your contract, so they’re not going to bring it! In the health insurance world, it’s called “rescission.” Insurers decide they won’t honor the contract because of some alleged violation by the policy-holder.

They do that to keep their fat profit margins. Health care giant Wellpoint has proposed substantial rate increases in the individual market (policies for individuals who don’t have employer-based insurance), not just in California but in several other states. In congressional testimony last week, WellPoint president Angela Braly said the company had to raise premiums because of soaring health care costs. But Wellpoint hardly seems to be hurting; it reported a profit last year of $4.7 billion.

California’s Wellpoint subsidiary, Anthem Blue Cross, is not only proposing stunning rate hikes. The state’s insurance commissioner has announced that the company has also repeatedly violated state law by failing to pay medical claims on time and by misrepresenting policy provisions to consumers, according to the Los Angeles Times.

So, it seems, the company tells you that a policy offers broad coverage when they’re trying to get you to buy insurance. But when you need the coverage, you find out that the policy doesn’t offer broad coverage, after all. That helps explain why so many people, even with health insurance, go bankrupt after a costly illness.

Without stricter government oversight and regulation — which is the essence of the health care reform proposed by President Obama — health care costs will continue to soar while consumers get less and less. Obama’s proposals don’t represent a “government takeover,” as critics contend. The vast majority of Americans would still get their insurance in the private marketplace. But insurers would have to live by a different set of rules.

Vice President Joe Biden said it best at the summit: If Republicans agree that insurance reform is necessary, that health insurance companies should be prohibited from turning away consumers because of pre-existing conditions, that they should be prevented from enforcing lifetime caps on benefits, then the GOP must see the need for strict government regulation. You don’t get those changes in the “free market.”

And, unlike the choice of buying a computer or a car, you’d don’t really get to walk away from health insurance. If you do, you take your life into your hands. Having health insurance increases your chances of longevity.

Once upon a time, political leaders realized that all Americans needed access to electricity, and they stepped in to ensure that all households got that small miracle at reasonable rates — something that the “free market” could not provide. Americans need a similar intervention in health care now.

Iraq to reinstate 20,000 Saddam-era army personnel

This is great news! The Ba’athist regime has been officially destroyed, but unofficially, former Ba’athists are regaining their influence. The secular Ba’athists work towards a great political system but are less extreme (in terms of nationalism and secularism) then the Social Nationalists of Syria. But pragmatically the Ba’athists have achieved more.

People like the Ba’athists are people who should be ruling over the Middle East. People who have a sense of identity, but are not religious zealots. Similar people should be ruling over Israel right now.

BAGHDAD —

Iraq on Friday announced the reinstatement of 20,000 former army officers who were dismissed after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, in a gesture toward healing sectarian resentment over the disbanding of Saddam Hussein’s military.

But the timing of the announcement raised suspicions that Shiite Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his allies were just currying votes in upcoming parliamentary election.

The skepticism underscored how bitter feelings have become between Iraq’s factions ahead of the March 7 vote. Many had hoped the vote would be a chance to move past the Shiite-Sunni divisions that have wracked Iraq since Saddam’s fall nearly seven years ago, but instead the mistrust between the two sides has become starker.

Al-Maliki is facing Sunni anger after a Shiite-led commission barred 440 candidates—mostly Sunnis—from running because of suspected ties to Saddam’s former ruling party.

In theory, the military reinstatements should be good news for Sunnis. The 2003 order by Iraq’s then-American governor L Paul Bremer to dissolve Saddam’s 400,000-strong army—the largest in the Middle East on the eve of the 2003 invasion—is widely seen as one of the factors that fueled Sunnis’ sense of alienation with the new Iraq from the very start.

Sunnis dominated Saddam’s regime, and many top military officers came from the community. Jobless and angry, some from the old army took their expertise to the Sunni insurgency that broke out in the summer of 2003, seeking an income for their families or revenge against the Americans and their Iraqi allies. The disbanding, along with the looting of the army’s bases and depots across much of Iraq, is widely blamed for the tortuously slow pace of standing, equipping and training the country’s new army.

Over past years, thousands of officers from the disbanded army have trickled back to service in an ongoing process of reintegration. Friday’s announcement that 20,000 were being reinstated was the largest known single batch of returnees.

Defense Ministry Spokesman Mohammed al-Askari denied that the announcement was linked to the March 7 election for a 325-seat legislature, insisting that it was made when funding for the 20,000 positions became available.

“This measure has nothing to do with elections, rather it is related to budget allocations,” he said.

A Defense Ministry statement said the rehired personnel would be reinstated as of Sunday, but a senior Iraqi military official said the process of absorbing so many could take weeks and maybe months to complete.

The official said a systematic process to reinstate Saddam-era army personnel has been ongoing for months, with a ministry committee screening officers and noncommissioned officers for ties to Saddam’s regime or involvement in atrocities or war crimes.

He said reinstatements were strictly based on the army’s present requirements and mainly benefited officers from the rank of colonel down to noncommissioned officers. U.S. commanders have in the past pointed out that Iraq’s new army, which is at least 300,000-strong, desperately needed mid-ranking and experienced noncommssioned officers.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.

Critics, however, said the sudden return of their jobs might influence the votes of the reinstated personnel.

“No doubt, this move is related to the elections and it aims at gaining votes,” said Maysoun al-Damlouji, a candidate from a secular block led by former prime minister Ayad Allawi, a fierce critic of al-Maliki.

The United States hopes a transparent and credible election will bolster national reconciliation efforts and pave the way for its combat forces to go home by the end of August and the rest by next year’s end.

Regardless of the motive, reinstating the large group of officers would go some way toward helping reconciliation. Al-Maliki has raised Sunni resentment with his relentless denouncements of Baathists in Iraqi politics. But at the same time, he has shown some flexibility on the issue when it comes to the military.

Al-Maliki’s Shiite-dominated government has already reinstated many Sunni officers as top commanders in the new army. It also waived “de-Baathification” rules and reinstated generals—Sunnis and Shiites—who once held senior positions in Saddam’s ruling party.

Analyst Nabil Salim, a Baghdad University political science professor, attributed Friday’s announcement to political and election considerations, but also saw it as a boost for the U.S.-backed Iraqi security forces as they fight insurgents.

“It is a good step to provide the new army with badly needed expertise,” he said.

What to do with officials from the Baath and former army officers has been a key source of tension for postwar Iraq.

Hundreds of thousands, including army personnel, were purged from jobs at the government and security forces under a controversial program conceived by Bremer’s Coalition Provisional Authority—the U.S. occupation government.

Many were allowed to return to government service in 2008. But the issue remains a source of friction, especially after the election ban, ordered by a committee led by two Shiite candidates believed to have ties to Iran.

One of the banned candidates, prominent Sunni lawmaker Saleh al-Mutlaq, pulled his party out of the election in protest, but he reversed the decision on Thursday. The decision effectively lifts the lingering threat that minority Sunnis would boycott the vote.

In yet another twist Friday, the spokesman of the Shiite-led political vetting committee that drafted the blacklist, Mudhafar al-Batat, said the panel would file a lawsuit against al-Mutlaq for his alleged involvement in attacks and killings carried out by insurgent groups linked to the Baath party.

Moscow was marching on Stalin’s Birthday!

Our friends at the North Star Compass published these photographs taken from the celebrations of the 130th Birthday of Josef Stalin on Dec. 21, 2009 (from the current issue of NSC).

On December 21, 2009 – the 130th Birthday of J.V. Stalin, people gathered on the Red Square in Moscow to celebrate this great event in the history of all mankind. Then came representatives from different parties and citizens from all walks of life.

First came the patriotic forces from the AUCPB, coming to the grave of Stalin and laid flowers and held a small meeting. After that the representatives of the CPRF and RCU of Youth, Trudovaya Rossia and many other parties and multitude of people came to pay respect to Stalin with flowers and wreaths.

Even though the authorities tried to stop some people, the multitude was just too much for the present regime to stop. The columns of people grew longer and longer and it brought back memories as to how it was during Soviet times.

There was a never-ending laying of flowers and wreaths to Stalin.

The people kept coming in greater numbers as never before since the demise of the Soviet Union.

Red Square from one end to the other had people waiting in line.

Soviet War Veterans, decorated with medals, paid their respect to Generalissimo Stalin.

I just reviewed old threads started on the phora, and found them embarrassing, because they were so obviously influenced by bourgeois liberalism and an attempt to appeal to the fox news crowd. What kind of Kim Jong Il, Saddam Hussein and Vlad the Impaler fan tries to collaborate with Republican neo-liberals! And they lacked a clear cut message! It’s so obvious that I do not believe in liberal democracy and I do not know why I was not more explicit about the sham of the two party system.

In 2007 however, as opposed to 2006, The pro-JTF posts were cool because at that time the JTF used to be cool, but all this talk about “white racialism” and “western civilization” is just a bunch of Republican non-sense. My views are increased in sophistication by several orders of magnitude, but really I realized that trying to frame views into a mainstream context is cowardly! In addition to being a coward’s move, trying to “go mainstream” does not get results!

I note a few recurring themes in the posts, but that was mainly because of the environment. If a pond is full of bass fish, then your line will catch bass fish. If a forum is full of people who enjoy talking about certain themes, then you’ll adapt to that. It’s hardly autistic as the clowns on stumble inn would suggest, and more that I was responding to the environment by discussing the same topics, of course with different viewpoints! Contrary to me being autistic, my ideological opponents were, as they latched onto old fashioned ideologies and defended them whereas I always look forwards and sideways, much to the consternation of others.

I note high levels of criticism of Catholicism and Paganism. And criticism of nationalities. I guess you can say the posts weren’t all boxed into one issue.

February 24 – A new poll from CNN shows that a mere 14 per cent of American citizens have “faith” in the United States government and its ability to handle the problems currently confronting it.

The poll, conducted by CNN and Research Corp., was published earlier this week and showed that an overwhelming majority of American citizens – a staggering (but not surprising) 85 per cent – of those surveyed believed the current US governing system was “broken,” according to CNN’s report on the poll findings.

The results of the latest poll are consistent with recent surveys which have shown a dramatic decrease in popular support for US President Barack Obama, who at one point garnered impressive approval ratings following the hype of the President’s massive campaign push in 2008.

But since coming to power in January 2009, President Obama has done little, if anything, to substantiate his highly emotionally-charged campaign rhetoric calling for “change.” In fact, disappointment and disillusionment have perhaps best defined the President’s first year in office, particularly in the policy areas in which the President had said he was most interested in making change: health care reform and US aggression abroad.

However, the President has done little to distinguish himself from his predecessor, including his ongoing failures to manage the unprecedented unemployment resulting from the latest worldwide capitalist crisis, failure to even bring about shallow, surface level “reform” to the US’ broken privately-run health care system and his plans for deploying 30,000 additional US soldiers to war-ravaged Afghanistan.

Thankfully, in my case, things are finally starting to break again.

With job openings few and far between, it’s more important than ever that job seekers’ strategy is on target — and networking should be the basis of that strategy.

Rather than sitting in front of a computer, searching online postings and blindly sending out dozens or hundreds of resumes, job hunters have a better chance of success through networking. The adage, “It’s not what you know, but who you know” is more accurate than ever.

The more time you devote to networking, the higher your probability of finding that elusive job, corporate insiders and job-search experts say. One reason for that: Companies often fill positions by making internal employee referrals part of the company culture. Some firms even make hiring new workers through referrals a strategic goal.

That’s a development job hunters can leverage to their advantage by honing their networking skills. For companies, having current employees recommend new hires gives them access to pools of talent they might not normally attract. And current employees get the opportunity to recommend skilled newcomers and reap cash bonuses and internal recognition.

“Prudential has always viewed their employees as talent ambassadors. Our employees are an excellent source for referrals,” said Peter Price, director of global communications for Prudential Financial Inc.

Prudential employees earn between $500 and $2,500 for each successful referral, depending on the job level. Hiring managers are not required to hire a referral over a more qualified candidate — decisions are based on skills, experience and qualifications. But “serious consideration is given to those candidates who are referred by Prudential employees,” Price said.

At Vistaprint, the company’s “Everyone Here is a Recruiter” program, launched in late 2006, offers a $1,500 referral award for each successful hire, and a home theater system for the employee with the most referrals hired.

“At the end of that first year of the program, employee referrals jumped from 19 percent to 42 percent,” said Kevin Murray, director of recruiting at the firm. Vistaprint USA Inc., a print company focused on business cards and brochures, is a subsidiary of Vistaprint N.V.

“By 2008, employee referrals had grown to 48 percent of all new hires. The program is on track to pass that number this year,” he said.

Will Robinson, a job coach in Arlington, Mass., said in this economic downturn he’s seen a growing number of new hires coming from employee referrals

“In some companies, as many as 75 percent of placements are done through networking,” Robinson said. “Employee referrals are hugely important to companies. They are even more important in a soft economy, when companies are flooded with resumes, and many of them are bad resumes.”

From the organization’s perspective, employee referrals are extremely valuable, said Alexandra Levit, author of “New Job, New You: A Guide to Reinventing Yourself in a Bright New Career.”

“Not only do you receive a steady stream of qualified applicants without having to spend big dollars on recruiting, but those applicants come with built-in, trusted references,” said Levit, who is working with the Labor Department on a plan to make American workers more competitive in the job market.

Many companies consider employee referrals so important they mandate a specific percentage of positions be filled by referral, and human-resources representatives have to meet quotas, Levit said. That creates opportunities for anyone wanting to work at those companies: Networking with the right people can help get your resume in front of someone who actually wants to see it.

Employee referrals also help cut the cost of finding candidates, said Prudential’s Price. “In most cases, the awards that are paid out for an employee referral will be significantly less than the cost of other sourcing methods, like advertising.”

While the extra cash is a strong incentive for employees to suggest qualified candidates, it’s not the main draw of employee-referral programs.

“Employees are definitely motivated by the bonus, but I think they also want to do something that helps a person in need and their organization at the same time,” Levit said. Making a successful recommendation not only helps the company; it also helps the reputation of the employee who made it, Levit said.

“I am an individual with a success story,” said Kindra Hall, vice president of sales at Orenda International, a Tempe, Ariz.-based natural health product marketing company. “I am the one who has offered the insider’s referral. So far, my company has hired all three of the referrals I’ve made.

“I want to make sure that I’m working with the best people, that my team is strong,” Hall said. “Though a bonus would be nice, I was more motivated by what the referred person could do for the growth of the company and therefore my future income.”

Many job seekers don’t realize most openings aren’t advertised, Levit said. Many businesses prefer to hire from within the company or through word-of-mouth. “If you’re coming in from off the street, you could be out of luck,” she said.

While job seekers should use all the tried and true networking techniques, those looking for work should never stalk someone in a bid to network, Levit said.

Instead, practice what Levit calls the 3/6 rule. “Contact the person three times over a period of six weeks, and if you don’t hear back, move on to someone else who will be more open to helping you.”

Vistaprint’s Murray said job seekers tend to overlook their college or university’s alumni resources. Many schools have a dedicated alumni site linked to the larger school Web site, which often includes access to online job boards and discussion forums, and information on alumni networking events all over the country.

Robinson, the job coach, said people should spend 75 percent of their search time networking, and job hunters should use a “targeted company” networking strategy. You first target companies you want to work for and then network to find people in those companies who can eventually tell you about job openings, and ideally, refer you for a spot.

Said Robinson: “Instead of … blasting resumes out to every company that may have an opening, you first identify target companies—usually 10 — and start a networking strategy to find individuals in these companies.”

On that forum, people gain popularity by bashing the few posters who are actually capable of making a name for themselves, because most of these people are nobodies outside of the vbulletin forums. It’s a giant mockery of the internet, but as usual, what starts out as an entertaining forum is taken over by ignorant backwoods dirt road rednecks who cannot build a crowd, so they attack those who can. Sort of the way in which unknown gangster rappers will attack successful gangster rapers, because otherwise nobody would buy their albums.

If you go there, remember that the entire website is a joke. The problem, is that the latest wave of members don’t understand that it is a joke, and are thus trying to establish a redneck trailer park ideological line and impose it on people who disagree with them.

The idiot John Goodwin (who posts as Macrobius) thinks that me leaving them will bring in traffic. I disagree, that forum revolved around me the same way that South Park revolves around Kenny. I’m not dumb enough to expect them to die off, but their posts will decrease.

I’ve bashed a lot of people but I’ve never really targeted Protestants. I view them as pseudo-revolutionaries. What Protestants do is basically copy Catholic dogma but rebel against the hand that feeds them.

You would expect rebels against the Catholic Church to turn into atheists instead of Protestants. Protestants are “half Catholic.” They are like a women who is beaten by a husband, but won’t divorce the husband. They outwardly reject Catholicism but inherit all their ideas from Catholicism.

When I learn more about Orthodox Christianity, I’ll probably send a few verbal missiles in that direction too.

One would expect that the Slavic peoples would develop a form of rebellion against Catholicism and Orthodoxy. After all, Orthodoxy is a Greek religion and Catholicism a Roman religion. Against bureaucratic Christianity, the Germanic peoples rebelled with Protestantism and then Nazism, but only Russians (with the help of Jews) countered with Bolshevism, while other Slavs act like slaves!

Women Are Consumers

Women don’t understand ownership. They only understand consumership. That’s why they should only purchase things that can be used. Things like make-up, clothing, pots and pans, and especially birth control; all things meant to be used up or thrown away when something better comes along — just like women.

Women frequently find me physically attractive and I push them away because they are nothing but a waste of time. Avoiding women is a form of delousing. I prefer not to party with immature children at bars and houses, but when I do, you can count on the women all talking to me. When in college, I frequently retreated to my dorm room and wrote posts just to avoid the corruption of women. The opiate of the masses is being pussy whipped and showing any kind of caring towards women.

Before the recession I was not so open about my serial killer style hatred of women, but now all my prejudices are coming out because I’m angry with the world. Women are like snakes – some of them may not be poisonous but the ones who are not will strangle you.

When the lyceum was formed, I was less extreme. I wanted to separate between “good women” and “bad women.” At one point we banned someone “for being a women” and I protested. I wasn’t too kind to the pedophora poster Starr, but that’s not only for her womanhood.

Now I’ve become more extreme. Women do nothing but sit in the kitchen and distract men from their superior goals. Imagine if you are shooting the foul shot to win a basketball game, and then you stop to look at a women and miss the shot. That is what women are like. A giant waste of time. Useless. Worth nothing.

But women find me physically attractive, and this is a biological fact. Obviously my physical condition is very high. Because I don’t fully articulate the extent I hate women when talking to the average person casually, they actually find me likable. But they don’t know I hate them.

A new report on the impact of unemployment and underemployment during the Great Recession suggests that higher-paid workers have enjoyed practically full employment during the worst economic conditions in 80 years, while the lowest-paid workers have suffered through an unemployment rate above 30%.

The dismal findings are contained in a study by Andrew Sum, Ishwar Khatiwada and Sheila Palma of the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University, which details the unemployment and underemployment rates of workers in 10 different income categories during the period of October to December 2009.

The report says those in the lowest income group (making $12,499 or less) and the second-lowest group (making $12,500 to $20,000) account for 30.8% and 19.1%, respectively, of those unemployed during the fourth quarter of 2009. They also accounted for 20.7 and 17.2% of those who were underemployed. By contrast, those making $100,000 to $149,000 or $150,000 or more accounted for 4% and 3.2% of the unemployed, respectively, and 2.5% and 1.6%, respectively. of the underemployed.

The middle class was also hit hard during the recession, but those with the highest incomes weren’t affected as seriously.

“Radically Different Labor Markets”

“At the end of calendar year 2009, as the national economy was recovering from the recession of 2007-2009, workers in different segments of the income distribution clearly found themselves in radically different labor market conditions,” says the report. “A true labor market depression faced those in the bottom two deciles of the income distribution, a deep labor market recession prevailed among those in the middle of the distribution, and close to a full employment environment prevailed at the top. There was no labor market recession for America’s affluent.”

New York Times columnist Bob Herbert wrote about the report on Tuesday, pointing out how the pain of this recession has affected those who were in the most pain before it started. “Those in the lower income groups are in a much, much deeper hole than the general commentary on the recession would lead people to believe,” he wrote.

The Northeastern study also says employed workers in the lower-income groups are 13 times more likely to be underemployed than are employed workers in the top income categories. Members of lower-income groups were also most likely to have either withdrawn from the active labor pool or to have chosen not to enter the depressed labor market in the fourth quarter of 2009 to seek paid employment.

It is an error to turn against Israel just because a crowd of crazy people who are rejected both by the JDL and Israel display paranoid personality disorder, DSM IV. “The nazis are out to get me.” The Marx quotations are valid, as are the points about Monarchs employing Jews so they can hide behind the title wave of dissent from the masses. I suspect similar tactics may be used by modern capitalist rulers.

It would be pleasurable to purge paranoids like Chaim Ben Pesach from the Zionist movement, but I just realized it’s not necessary. It has already occurred. The JDL has rejected him and Israel has banned him. Perhaps the JDL and Israel are neo-nazi organizations, and Rick Rubin was the Fuhrer. Recession is hurting men – not women!

For the first time in recorded history, women outnumber men on the nation’s payrolls.

This benchmark is bittersweet, as it comes largely at men’s expense. Because men have been losing their jobs faster than women, the downturn has at times been referred to as a “man-cession.”

Women’s new majority in the nation’s workplaces comes decades after women first began trading in their aprons for pantsuits in droves, and it reinforces expectations that women will continue on the path to pay parity.

“Important milestones remain to be achieved, but women’s surpassing 50 percent of employment is something that historians will note for years to come,” said Casey B. Mulligan, an economics professor at the University of Chicago who has been tracking the recession’s effects on both sexes.

According to seasonally unadjusted data released on Friday by the Labor Department, women held the majority of nonfarm payroll jobs in January. They also did so during February, March, November and December of last year, but the shift emerged only on Friday when the Labor Department revised its 2009 data. Women’s slender lead was highest last month, when they held 50.3 percent of the nation’s nonfarm payroll jobs in the raw numbers.

Over the last few decades, women have been steadily claiming a greater share of the nation’s payrolls. In 1964, the first year for which the government began collecting this data, less than a third of the nation’s nonfarm payroll jobs were held by women.

But it was the recession that finally pushed women into the majority.

As in previous recessions, male workers have borne the brunt of the job losses in the last two years. Since the recession began in December 2007, men have lost 7.4 million jobs on net, whereas women have lost 3.9 million jobs.

In other words, both sexes are worse off than they were before the downturn, but men have suffered more.

The types of jobs held by men and women help explain the shift. Men are more likely to work in industries like manufacturing, which rise and fall with the economic cycle. Women are more likely to work in government, health care and education, among the safest categories in a downturn. Health care employment has been among the strongest of any type during the recession.

It is also “no accident” that women pushed ahead of men during colder months, says Professor Mulligan.

Male-dominated industries are actually especially cyclical in two different ways: They are not only influenced by the business cycle, but also by the seasonal cycle. Industries like construction, which tend to employ men, get more work in warmer months.

If you adjust for these regular seasonal factors that affect the job market, women would have held just less than half of the nation’s payroll jobs in January, at 49.9 percent.

All of this means that women are likely to fall back to a minority of the nation’s payrolls again once the weather warms and the recovery gains a foothold in the labor markets. Still, the longer-term trend of stronger representation on the nation’s payrolls will most likely continue, economists say.

Obama is concealing the Extent of the Recession

President Obama’s repeated references to Friday’s surprising decline in the unemployment rate epitomize his utter disregard toward the intellect of our citizenry. His citation of these numbers as evidence we are “climbing out of the hole we found ourselves in” reveals an assumption on his part that the folks are incapable of figuring things out for themselves. While Obama surely isn’t the coldest beer in the fridge, he isn’t stupid enough to actually believe Americans can’t figure out this scam. No, his use of the 9.7% figure to support his position is a blatant lie. After all, his own budget plan projects unemployment will remain higher than this figure at the end of the year. Even his own economic advisor, Christina Romer contradicited the President, saying, “The monthly employment and unemployment numbers are volatile and subject to substantial revision. Therefore, it is important not to read too much into any one monthly report, positive or negative.”

The surprisingly low unemployment figure, of course, occurred as a result of an inordinately large number of job seekers dropping from the record as their unemployment benefits expire and many others have simply given up all hope of procuring employment. The government’s hiring of over a million temporary workers this year to perform the census also takes the edge off the numbers.

CNBC’s Rick Santelli emphasized that the commonly-used U3 numbers are being grossly manipulated in an effort to hide the depth of this recession. He explained on Friday how the Obama administration has lowered the total number of jobs supposedly available in the marketplace, taking the 136 million figure down to 129 million. Thus, the percentage of employed per available jobs rises and the U3 number magically goes down.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) provides far more data on actual unemployment than is ever reported by the mainstream media. The U6, which includes the U3 totals plus those who have given up plus part-time and temporary workers plus marginally attached workers, provides a much broader and more reliable measure of actual unemployment. The U6 doesn’t require any math or massaging of the numbers. It simply represents the data from the BLS in the least manipulable manner. Incidentally, the U6 has risen every month since Obama took office – and currently sits at around 18 percent.

The President got his headlines on Friday. We lost 20,000 more jobs in January and added a million more unemployed from last year. But the U3 mysteriously shrinks to 9.7% and Obama has the temerity to proclaim we are “climbing out of the hole”. This was a foolish mistake. Jobs have not been created (nor saved) and will not be in the foreseeable future. These false hopes shamefully advanced by the administration will only result in heightened frustrations down the road.

Massive revision will show recession was even worse

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — On Friday, the government’s official data on U.S. employment will be updated to reflect what everyone already feels: In terms of job losses, this has been the worst recession since the end of the World War II more than 60 years ago.

Instead of job losses of 7.2 million as currently reported, it’ll be more like 8.1 million lost jobs, if the annual benchmark revision of payrolls through March 2009 comes in as had been estimated four months ago by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Most of the extra jobs lost — numbering a projected 824,000 — came in the first quarter of 2009, adding to the 2.07 million that have already been reported, the government has forecast.

What’s more, the employment picture will likely look even worse after next year’s revision, which will cover payrolls data running from April 2009 through March 2010.

The revisions to the establishment survey will be a “doozie,” said Michael Gregory, economist for BMO Capital Markets.

After the revision, payrolls will have fallen 5.9% from the peak in December 2007 to December 2009, easily beating the post-World War II record decline of 5.2% set in 1948-49, he said. By comparison, payrolls fell by about 18% during the Great Depression.

Most commentators have already incorporated the payroll revision into their thinking. The Obama administration,Congress, the Federal Reserve and the private-sector have all recognized that more than 8 million jobs have been lost — but the fact of the report could still come as a shock to some investors on Friday, when the revisions will be reported as part of the employment report for January.

Economists surveyed by MarketWatch are expecting payrolls to grow by a seasonally adjusted 25,000 in January, what would be just the second increase since the recession began 25 months earlier. The revision will not affect the nation’s unemployment rate, which is derived from a separate survey of households. Read our complete economic calendar and consensus forecast.

Economists are expecting the official unemployment rate to remain at a seasonally adjusted 10% on the month. The broader unemployment rate, which also includes discouraged workers as well as underemployment, should be steady at 17.3%, economists said.
Not a shocker

Despite what you may have read, the payroll revision isn’t a secret. It was first reported in October, when the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated that the benchmark revision to the establishment survey would total an incredible negative 824,000 from April 2008 through March 2009. The actual revision will be announced on Friday.

Each year, the Bureau of Labor Statistics revises earlier estimates, based on monthly samples of hundreds of thousands of businesses, to incorporate information from tax records. The big issue for the revisions: How close the government was when it guessed how many new businesses would open and how many would close down?

From 2003 to 2007, the government’s guesses were pretty good, averaging about 0.2% of payrolls. But in 2008, the BLS “birth-death” model fell apart with a 0.6% miss.

It turned out that the number of jobs created by new firms was much less than expected.

The government adopted the birth-death model to make its monthly estimates more accurate. The monthly payroll count is based on a representative survey of businesses, but the BLS cannot survey new businesses immediately because it doesn’t know they exist.

It would, in other words, miss a lot of job creation if it didn’t have a way of estimating how many new companies have been formed.

Similarly, it also cannot be sure whether a business that didn’t respond to the survey is still in operation or just not returning the form. Statisticians at the BLS have to estimate how many firms go out of business.

Ultimately, new businesses show up in the tax records. And businesses that went out of business are excised from those records. Then, the government can check how close its estimates were to the actual payroll tax records.

It seems impossible to many people that any businesses at all are formed during recessions. That’s just not so.

Even at the depth of the recession in the first quarter of 2009, 1.1 million jobs were created at new establishments. At the same time, however, 1.4 million jobs were lost at companies that closed their doors.

Part I of VI: Beck’s Countless Lies about America & the Founding Fathers

On January 22nd 2010, another hardened reactionary tried to attack the history of leftism and Marxism and (surprise) managed to bring nothing new to the table at all. Shock jock Glenn Beck, an admitted alcoholic and former cocaine addict, has made a career out of appealing to the most lunatic fringe of the right-wing. Even so, this week he finally managed to outdo himself, even after the time he said Obama was “a racist” and had a “deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.” Revolutionary Holocaust: Live Free or Die begins oddly—with white X-Files font letters against a crackling static background. What this has to do with or why this is the least bit appropriate for the subject matter Beck tackles is anyone’s guess. As we shall see though, this is symbolic for the entire presentation, which, while clever, is the same hodgepodge of anti-communist views that we have all seen and heard a thousand times before.

A good question for Glenn Beck: why is such radical anti-communism necessary today if communism is discredited, dead, and buried? If communism is supposedly dead in the water, a footnote of history, and so on, and if capitalism is truly the greatest system, then why is it that we are facing a wave of anti-communist hysteria not seen since the Cold War? Mr. Beck, it might do you well to remember that hysteria and desperation are signs of weakness…and liars.

No matter how hard he tries, Glenn Beck cannot sell his line about how “this story has never been told.” Horror stories about communism have been told since before communists ever came to power in the first place. The opening of the secret Soviet archives actually reveals that these claims were in fact ridiculously exaggerated, not worse, than previously claimed.

So, what are his intentions here? Many things all at once—among them licking the boots of the bourgeoisie and re-packaging old and debunked lies. We shall tackle them one by one using our own sources and information. Because of the length of his program, we have decided to break this presentation up into several parts. For right now, we will content ourselves with refuting the introduction to his program.

Beck’s Thesis
Glenn Beck’s allegedly “groundbreaking” exposé of “progressives,” whom he conveniently lumps together, is by no means new or groundbreaking at all. Revolutionary Holocaust seeks to establish a link between Joseph Stalin and communism on one side, and Adolf Hitler and Nazism on the other. While doing this it also seeks to talk about the reign of Mao Zedong in China, along with a segment about liberal icon Che Guevara.
This same “thesis” of fascism and communism being almost exactly the same or at least sharing fundamental similarities, has been repeated for us endlessly since we were kids. For Beck to champion this as a “new and groundbreaking” idea is either foolish or stunningly arrogant. It has been the dominant narrative shoved down our throats since the publication of The Origins of Totalitarianism in 1951 by Hannah Arendt. Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, & Slave-Owning Freedom
The video begins with Glenn Beck praising the United States of America and its associated American Dream. “The story of America,” he pines, staring into the camera with his intellectual glasses on, “is really one of self-reliance and optimism, and profound faith.” He continues to milk this image for all its worth, bringing up the merits of the US Constitution and the Founding Fathers.

Glenn Beck has willfully ignored the history of the American Revolution. The spirit of the American Founding Fathers is only a myth and not a reality.

First, the Constitution of the United States was not set up by “the” people or any sort of popular democracy, but by financial autocrats. White males with property were the only ones allowed to vote under the system that men such as George Washington (the richest man in America), James Madison (owned enormous slave plantations), John Hancock (a rich merchant), Benjamin Franklin (a wealthy printer) and others aimed to set up. Of the 55 men who gathered to write the Constitution in 1787, most were lawyers and men of enormous wealth, making their fortunes in landowning, slave trading, manufacturing or shipping. Half loaned money out for interest, 40 held government bonds.
Regarding the writing of the Constitution:
“The manufacturers needed protective tariffs; the moneylenders wanted to stop the use of paper money to pay off debts; the land speculators wanted protection as they invaded Indian lands; slaveowners needed federals security against slave revolts and runaways; bondholders wanted a government able to raise money by nationwide taxation, to pay off those bonds” (1).

Governments are not neutral. They reflect the economic interests of the dominant class, expressed in America as men such as the Founding Fathers. The Constitution protects “life, liberty, or property” and little else in reality. Women, Blacks, Indians and poor whites were not mentioned, but the defense of private property was.
The clause about the “freedom of speech” was soon enough violated, as it is today, by clauses such as the Sedition Act of 1789, which was a response to the French and Irish Revolutions. It forbid under law the practice of writing or saying anything “false, scandalous and malicious” against the United States government, the Congress or the President. It is not immediately apparent that anyone’s “liberty” should be left to a government run by the rich and powerful.

Despite this, Beck says that “[…] those seeking a different path than the ones the founders settled on realized the only way to really defeat the Constitution was for the people to stop reading it.” He then insists that the Constitution, through its supposed system of check and balances, “kept dogs at bay” for 200 years. Despite this Utopian dream, the Founding Fathers were not men seeking a “balance” in society, and certainly didn’t believe that all men were created equal. If they wanted any sort of balance, it was between the wealthy, and not between such groups as Indians and whites, blacks and whites, men and women, boss and worker, or rich and poor, slave and slaveowner, and certainly not property owner and the propertyless.

Pol Pot wasn’t Really a literal Marxist-Leninist!

Here is an interesting post about Pol Pot and how he was really a Khmer nationalist and not a Communist. He adopted some Marxist rhetoric but followed his own line. And he sided more with Mao than with USSR. USSR of course had backed off from its Stalinist line, but still Maoism is strongly adapted to Chinese characteristics and quite different from Russian Bolshevism.

I already knew this, but it adds some extra angles to the discussion.

Russian nation was created by Russian climate and Russian blood.

Contrary to common misconception, Russians living on territory of Russian Federation are not of Slavic blood. The ancient inhabitants of Kiev’s principate were Slavic people, that’s true. When Moscow principality was created a few centuries later in the 14th century, its population was overwhelmingly Urgo-Finns. Descendants of Kiev’s genealogical tree, their princes were originally of Slavic blood. But when Kiev’s armies moved north with their small troops, they conquered enormous vast variety of Finnish tribes who lived on enormous territory of European Russia. Only aristocrats of Russia were originally Slavs. Simple folk were descendants of Finns. That is why it is practically no different between “Chuvash” and “Finn.” And that is why Serbs are so different from Russians. Because Serbs are Slavs.

Russians are a depressive tribe because of centuries they were living in shadows of moisty forests. Russians are as unhappy with alcohol as Finns are.

So, forget about Slavs. When you will adopt my vision of Russian history, and of Russians, you will understand who Russians are.

I am the best Russian writer, but I am forced to confess that I hate Russian language. Russian words are painfully long, they remind me of naked slimy worms. You know, those pink awful creatures that you can see on some hot summer night on path you walk. Worms get out of soil to copulate under the moonlight. Russian words are copulating on my table every day and night. I am looking at them with hate and I am screaming. I am gnashing my teeth. Why should put “icheskaya” to the end of “social” in “Social Republic?” Seven letters I am adding for what fuck? Fucking “icheskaya!” Hysterical, hystericheskii laugh goes out of me when I am imaging those fucking Urgo-Finns in their shadowy forests. They move in slow motion, they take their time. Why wasn’t I born in a clear lucid language dealing in “Achtung!” and “Shnell?” And when I think that Russians are only a handful of 142 million readers, it’s really depressing for a writer.

The so called “Russian Soul” can be also explained by origins of the Russian people. Proverbial slowness of Finns (”hot finish lads!”) can be seen as phenomenon of Russian soul. Enigmatical Russian Soul is simply Russian man, uncertain, slow to decide, hesitating, never sure of itself, never sure of its own decision. Forest man with a milky skin, with thin blond hair. Not a Slav, but a Finn, Finn, Finn! And don’t accuse me of racism. Happily we have Turks and all sorts of Mongols amongst us. But the sick from alcoholism urban Russian Europeans are descendants of native Urgo-Finns and their tribes. They have shadowy mysterious souls because for hundred generations their ancestors were living by the river banks in the forests. They like to get drunk and to weep. Of too many trees, of too much of river’s water the Russian Soul is created.

Then, of course, we live in a terrible climate. We have eight months of winter and only four of summer. This summer, however, can be called a “summer” only such on condition that you have never travelled abroad. The lack of sunshine is chronic on the Russia’s territory. Everything is explained by its climate and the Urgo-Finn blood. Even more, the blood is explained by the climate. It moves slowly because of the freeze. No sunshine makes our kids look sad. When I was young, I thought almost everyday why “we Slavs” (I thought we were Slavic people) living in such an unhuman, uncomfortable climate? Why we didn’t move out of that terrible territory? However, I had tried to move. Our national ideas for centuries was to move south. We fought First World War to capture the the straights of Bosphorus and Dardanelles. We didn’t get it, alas. (Before that, in January of 1878, we were some kilometers from Istanbul-Constantinople before English bastards intervened.) Russian man carries all weight of his climate on itself. My deepest belief is that Russia should swallow Kazakhstan territory if we want our children to have sunshine.

Russian women are very, very bad. The worst of all. Russian women is like the Russian Government. Most Russian women at least are good looking when they are in their twenties. Some Russian women are gorgeously beautiful. But they are bad. They are treacherous because they have no moral principles. Christian faith was eliminated during existence of the Soviet Union so nobody taught Russian women morals. No such discipline was taught in Soviet schools. Russian woman hates man because she is envying him. She wants to be as brutal and stupid as him, she wants to lay on a divan doing nothing as man does, but she has less possibilities. Russian woman is disastrous, relationships with her destined to be tragedy. There is no way that you will end happily. You must subjugate her. If not, she will subjugate you. On both occasions, you will lose. Don’t forget that abortions and divorces were permitted even in Stalin’s Russia, so our country educated women as bitches. Millions of bitches walking our streets. I am absolutely and positively on the side of Muslim strict code of behavior for women. Their system of separation of sexes if effective and healthy.

Russian Government is bloody beast eating human flesh. It is deeply medieval in its principle conceptions. Russian Government strongly believed that Russians are subjects of Russian Government, that they are its property, that Russians should be physically punished for not showing proper respect for its Government. European Governments behave cruelly towards foreign populations, towards Yugoslavs or toward Iraqis. But Russian Government represses its own citizens. Russian Government never said one honest word. Blatant lies, we, citizens, hear from Government. They terrorize us.

Their instrument are police, brutal and unhuman, just millions of scoundrels dressed in grey uniforms. And judges: archaic men and women with terrible medieval faces and black souls under their judges clothes.

As you understand, my view of Russia is macabre, like Lovecraft’s work. I hope country will change soon, I am working for it. Then I will look at my country through rosy tinted glasses. Just wait.

Interesting. This may explain why Russians have tiny traces of Mongoloid blood (but not as much as Finns do).
